Chaps Choir (London) & The Bebington Bitter Men (The Wirral) are coming to Wiltshire to celebrate singing and raise funds for mental health charity CALM. This is the second time these men’s choirs have combined forces to bring an evening of sonorous entertainment. Prepare for pop re-hashes, snowy hunting calls, songs of the sea and, well, lots of men singing …

Chaps Choir

Chaps Choir is a large male singing gang from London; say goodbye to the male voice choir most would recognise. The group has been sharing its joy-inducing, heart-string pulling repertoire to audiences since 2013.

Their voices have filled the Royal Festival Hall, The Union Chapel & other major London venues. Featured at Wilderness & Port Eliot festivals the choir has slowly built a name through its urbane entertaining presentation and unexpected repertoire choices. They’ve performed live on Saturday night prime time TV, recorded at Abbey Road and been the subject of articles, news pieces & podcasts exploring men’s singing & male community.

Collaborations with artists & organisations include: Omar, Joe Stilgoe, Samantha Whates, The Spooky Men’s Chorale, CALM & The Choir With No Name. The choir has released a full length live album as well as numerous singles and video projects over the years, aiding its mission to bring the metropolitan singing chap into the choral melee. They envision a world where all chaps (and ‘other’ men) can find their singing voice.

The choir was founded and is run by singer & choir director Dom Stichbury. Dom creates positive spaces that encourage men to express themselves through song and community. He performs with The Spooky Men’s Chorale and is one half of singing duo ‘Ben & Dom’.

The Bebington Bitter Men

The Bittermen are ordinary blokes who make an extraordinary sound.

From Georgian laments, to the West Coast sounds of the 1960s, to straight-up sea shanties, the Bittermen are an a a cappella vocal collective that celebrate the age old tradition of men singing together. Formed in 2014 by their musical director James Sills, the Bittermen are equally at home singing on the concert stage, at festivals and especially in their spiritual home: The Rose & Crown pub in Bebington, Wirral, UK.  Over the years they have performed at both Liverpool Cathedrals, at events for BBC Worldwide and in 2021 the Bittermen provided the vocals for Guinness ad campaign ‘Always On My Mind.’
